HEALTH JOURNEY LIFE WITH ME TRAVEL

would I ever like to live the van life

Currently laying in bed resting with my heating pad. I’m pretty sure I’m over the worst of the virus. My mind is a bit foggy & my body is a bit achy but I am doing better 🙂 I get asked quite a bit if I would ever like to live the van life. As much as I love traveling, I love coming back to a place I can call home. I know to some their van or camper is their home but I just don’t know if I could live that way with my health or with daily comforts I’ve become accustomed to. Being non stop on the road with interstitial cystitis (chronic painful bladder syndrome), irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, POTS syndrome, fright of kidney stones, hormonal imbalances —list just keeps going— it doesn’t sound that appealing lol. I like having a roomy bathroom with my clean toilet & squatty potty on the days my bladder or gut is flaring. Believe me, it’s not fun when you’re out in the woods & your bladder or gut start having attacks. And then just having a hot bath or shower when my body is hurting or when it’s not hurting – I love soaking like a sponge. Then the comforts of my bedroom, living space, & kitchen – it all recharges me. It’s my space. Even though I love spreading my wings to fly to to new places, I love coming home to my nest. I’m always open to the possibilities of new nests in different places but as long as there is a nest to come home to. By nest I mean a place where my bed, succulents, paintings, & Harry Potter books are. I also love just laying on the couch watching my documentaries. I truly do love the comforts of a home. If I could I would take on both worlds equally; time out adventuring in nature without cell service, or tv, or any of the daily distractions but then also having my time in to soak in the tub, sleep in my bed, sit on my toilet, binge watch my shows… Yes, equal amounts of time would be perfect. What do you prefer? Out adventuring – living the van life or having a set home & nest? Or are you like me & want both? #adventurerandhomebody
