Have you ever looked around your home & noticed how many things are made with plastic? I did a walk through of glances & I first have to say wow. All my bottles of paint come in plastic, my pens & markers, fan, little tips on my shoelaces, al my yoga wheels are plastic, all my medicines, supplements, & birth control come in plastic, my herbs are in plastic bottles too but thankfully we reuse those bottles, the covers on several books, lotions, toothpaste bottle, floss container, my vacuum, dvd cases, dish soap, my protein powder containers, makeup is in plastic, the fire detectors, power chords… I’m feeling a bit like King Théoden in the Lord of the Rings when he says hauntingly “How did it come to this?” Anyone else a #LOTRNerd & know what Ike referring to??? 🤣I just looked over at my keys & my automatic car door lock is plastic too! So how can we correct this? Well one way is avoiding to purchase plastic when you can – obviously it’s a challenge! Try reusing the plastic items you already have & not just throwing them away nilly willy aka without a second thought to it – I’m very minimalist & hate collecting items but I may very well start collecting the plastic for an art project now. Recycle if you can. Be conscious to the fact of how much we use is plastic – being conscious & aware helps us to identify with the problem instead of keeping a blind eye to it. We may not have a solution yet but there are small actions we can take daily. I know it’s not easy my friends. Don’t beat yourself up about it. I’m not beating myself up about the plastic in my home – instead I take it as a challenge & I love a good challenge. Share with me the ways you live to be more eco friendly. To bring less plastic on your homes. I’m interested! You may be doing something I never thought to do & would love to hear about it! Share! 💚🌱⁣⁣
