HEALTH JOURNEY TAYBOB

Melasma

Melasma: condition in which brown patches appear on the face. Today I received my 3rd PicoSure laser treatment to help treat the melasma on my face. My hormones have always been pretty “vocal” to put it nicely lol. For those of you who have been following my journey for a while will know that 7 years I started my fight for my health. It all began with my hormones going out of whack. In a month my breast size went up two cup sizes, I was constantly fatigued, & carried my heating pad with me everywhere. I then started to suffer from severe pelvic pain & sickened. For a year I had complications with ovarian cysts where they would rupture & the liquid from the cysts would remain in my body & then there was a cyst which twisted my Fallopian tubes causing poor blood circulation. I also had endometriosis. I also had periods that lasted 30+ days. Since I was in so much pain & so sick with my hormones being so out of control my doctor & I made the decision to chemically shut my menstrual cycles off for 5 years ((I begged him for hysterectomy but thankfully he objected to this)). 5 years later my periods came back right on schedule & with them these reddish/brown spots began to appear. With each period the spots became more pronounced on my face until my forehead had a butterfly shape on it & spots on my cheeks had gotten bigger. I learned it was melasma due to my hormones. Thankfully my amazing medical team @optimalhealthassociates has been providing me with the PicoSure laser treatments to help fade & break up the melasma on my face. Focus treatments with the PicoSure laser activate the body’s natural skin cell processes for healthy skin. The treatments lighten unwanted pigment AND uniquely stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin without the pain of other laser treatments. Right now my face looks a bit sunburned but in a couple days it will be back to normal. I find it so interesting & rather fun to watch the pigment in the skin to break & fade knowing it was the laser causing the tiny particles making up pigment to vibrate & shatter 🤓 nerd badassery right there lol. Along with me spending the day reenacting Dr. Evil “laser” … yes I’m such a nerd lol
