Loving this bootay of mine 🍑♥️

It’s taken me a hell of a bit of time to form this loving relationship with my ass & body. Coming from a dancers background & being stick thin going through puberty was tough. Hated my butt, hips, & boobs. I felt off centered when dancing. Felt very self conscious in a leotard. I remember vividly having a meltdown as a teen when I went from a size 0 to a size 1 ((I KNOW 🤦🏻‍♀️)) Following that episode is when I started to slowly began to obsess about my weight. By the age of 16 years old that’s when I was completely obsessed. I worked out at the gym every day, usually for two hours, & I pushed myself as hard as I could go. Wouldn’t get off the elliptical until I had burned 1K+ calories, 500+ crunches, along with lifting weights & other exercises. I was also training in dance at least 20hrs a week, usually more when preparing for competitions & performances. I wasn’t eating enough. I watched my calories like a hawk. It was a bad relationship with my body & my body suffered for it. First it was severe cases of tendinitis in my knees & then severe nerve damage in my left foot. It was a very hard time in my life but that’s what brought me to yoga. My yoga journey began with the non-physical elements of yoga. Breathe work & learning to love myself. I still struggled when it came to the scale but not as bad. When I got sick with my interstitial cystitis I lost 40 pounds. I got so small where the only clothes that would fit me were the ones I wore in middle school. Thankfully I’ve gained back 20 of those lost pounds & feeling so incredible!! There is something so damn empowering about feeling confident in your body. No matter the shape or size. Own what you’ve got. We are all beautiful & deserve to love ourselves. It’s taken me 17 years to reach this point. First time since puberty that I love my body. Fucking love it. ♥️ #lovingmybody #damntime #fuckyes
