HEALTH JOURNEY LIFE WITH ME

I look back at these last 7 years & think “what a fucking journey … look how far I’ve come”⁣

Keep fighting for your dreams

I look back at these last 7 years & think “what a fucking journey … look how far I’ve come”⁣

From barely being able to stand & walk to climbing high.⁣

From being unable to eat without getting severally nauseas & vomiting, to not only being able to eat but to enjoy what I eat.⁣

From losing 40 lbs due to being so nauseous & in so much pain, to gaining & maintaining 20 of those lost pounds back.⁣

From having a doctors & physical therapy appointment daily to having routine checkups.⁣

From being terrified each day that I would live the rest of my life disabled by autoimmune diseases & chronic pain, to managing those conditions & being separate from them.⁣

10 surgeries in counting⁣
Tests. Bloodwork. Exams. Conventional & Alternative approaches in medicine. Trial – Error – Fail – Success – CONTINUE⁣

4 years of keeping a detailed daily journal on my health. Writing everything down: my symptoms, what I ate, what I did that day – did I bathe? Did I walk? Wrote down everything I did. How I was emotionally, how I was physically, how I was mentally. Wrote it all down. What was the weather? What did I wear that day? It helped fill the missing puzzle pieces so I could see the bigger picture.⁣

I would never say “I’m cured” or “I healed myself”. The autoimmune diseases are still there. The chronic pain is still there. But I’ve learned how to manage them for my body. I will give advise if asked for it. I will give recommendations if asked. I will share all that I’ve done if asked. But I will never tell you that because it worked for me it should work for you. We may have the same disease by name but we have different bodies & the diseases are different with each body.⁣

I will give support. I will share my experiences; the good, the bad, the ugly.⁣

I will look at you; not your disease or what you’ve been told you had but at you. We are shaped by these conditions, yes, without a doubt. But we are not defined by them. We define ourselves.⁣

I define myself as a warrior who is going to fight & raise awareness for each one of my fellow warriors. You are not ALONE. Our “invisible illnesses” will be SEEN & HEARD #chronicillnessawareness
