DEAR BODY

Dear Body, ⁣⁣
I hear you. I see you. I feel you. ⁣⁣
You are nauseas, tired, & inflamed⁣⁣
Together we have woken up in a cold sweat feeling like we are going to vomit.⁣⁣
We haven’t had much of an appetite & when we try to eat we feel sicker. ⁣⁣
Once a month we have to suffer a lot more than usual. ⁣⁣
Periods are hard. ⁣⁣
The raging hormones, the cramps, back pain, fatigue, bloating… all which heighten the chronic pain. ⁣⁣
We knew this was going to be challenging. ⁣⁣
We shut the periods down for 5 years to stop the endometriosis, complications from cysts, & non stop bleeding. ⁣⁣
It’s only been a year since we started having periods again. ⁣⁣
It’s taking time to reset. ⁣⁣
To be “regular” ⁣⁣
I know they are hard on us⁣⁣
I know they bring up deep traumas from the past. ⁣⁣
Trips to the ER. MRIs. CT scans. Blood tests. Laparoscopies ⁣⁣
That is why I am embracing you more than usual. ⁣⁣
You – We – will be ok body. ⁣⁣
I know you are doing your best. ⁣⁣
I’m thankful for you. ⁣⁣
We aren’t going backwards⁣⁣
We are going forwards ⁣⁣
We are in this together ⁣⁣
Just one moment at a time⁣⁣
One breath at a time ⁣⁣
I have you⁣⁣
I support you ⁣⁣
I won’t let you go
