I had such an amazing time traveling & hiking these last several days 👣🏜 I’m so excited with how well my health did with this road trip !!! Despite having shingles healing on my face my body did so great 🙌 My bladder with IC (interstitial cystitis) didn’t flare with the hiking or sitting in the car for long periods of time. My IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) was calm & cool – which was amazing that I was able to eat out more without getting sick & have regular bowel movements without the need of doing a single enema ((thank goodness!!!))). I didn’t experience any bouts with fatigue or chronic pain. Nor did I have any fainting episodes or sickness with my POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). AND my body didn’t crash or react once the trip was over !!! Often after doing something like traveling my body has a crash period where I’m feeling sick, fatigued, & I’m down for several days before regaining my energy. I’ve taken several nice long naps but I‘m still feeling grand & NOT sick 😄 I couldn’t be more happy !!! My new dream after fighting more health these last 7 years is to travel & to see as much as the world as I can. Traveling with health issues can be intimidating, nerve-wracking, & even frightening. You’re away from the security of your home & the support from your medical team. You don’t know how your body is going to react – it can be terrifying. When I went to Hawaii for a month for my continued yoga teacher training I had several panic attacks because of the fear of getting extremely sick & not having the support I needed. With this trip I pushed the fears aside & had a plan if I did get sick. I brought extra medications with me, toiletry, water, & I knew I had the support of a close friend that if I did get sick she would be able to know what to do to help me without freaking out or panicking. Most of my close friends have seen me when I’m flaring & instead of getting alarmed they know how to help & get me what I need. They can truly read me on how I’m doing. Having support is everything. I’m thankful each day for my friends & family who help lift me up 💚☀️🌻 #followyourdreams
